Rattlesnake Ultramarathon and Trail Race
Course Summary:
This course starts on the shore of Folsom Lake near the Rattlesnake Boat Ramp. The trail follows the shoreline upstream to the Auburn Dam Site and then climbs uphill to the Auburn Overlook Staging Area directly north of Overlook Park. 30 k runners will refill their bottles and turn around here while the 50 k runners will continue along the Tevis Cup and Western States trails to the No Hands Bridge Aid Station. A quick trip up the Training Hill brings you to Cool side of the canyon. Some brief rolling terrain and then it's back downhill to No Hands Bridge and then back the way you came to the start/finish area.
The temperatures will likely be high - around 100 degrees mid afternoon. All runners must carry at least one twenty-ounce water bottle between aid stations!
State Park Gate opens at 7:00 a.m. Runner check in from 7:00 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. Race starts at 8:00 a.m. sharp!

Aid Stations:
Aid Stations will be located at the Auburn Overlook Staging Area and at No Hands Bridge. The usual sweet and salty snacks, fresh fruit, potatoes and salt, water and sport drink will be offered at the aid stations.

All pre-registered entrants will recieve a dry release t-shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed for runners entering after July 20. Enjoy a post-race barbeque featuring veggie and regular burgers, salads, fresh fruit and cold drinks.

Entry fee does not include $10 State Park parking fee. Anual State Park passes will be honored. Although there is plenty of parking available, plan to car pool to share parking costs. Suggested meeting places for carpooling are the Park'n'Ride lot at the Newcastle Road/Indian Hill Exit just off of I-80 or the shopping center at Douglas Blvd. and Auburn Folsom Road.
